Four-wings are a lineage of vertebrates endemic to the Laarkhor cloud forest, comprising 45 known species ranging from crow to swan-size. Most species have brightly-coloured plumage as well as facial ornamentations. Though four-wings are legless animals that spend their whole life on the wing, they have two fleshy erectile wattles hanging from their bodies with which they anchor to a branch at night or during bad weather.

Four-wings are frugivores, using their pointed rostrums to pierce hard-shell fruits that form their staple diet.

Their reproductive system is somewhat similar to that of marsupial mammals; females give birth at a very early stage of development and carry their young in an external pouch.

This picture is part of a series which purpose is to build up an environment background for a personal project.
